CD ReviewsAwesome Aussie Punk Rock Scott Mitchell | Perth, Australia | 10/12/2004 (5 out of 5 stars) "If you are looking for a new cd to add to your cd collection, please dont hesitate to purchase this CD. Sound Shattering Sound is Gyroscopes first full length album, and believe me, it doesnt disapoint. Instead of dribbling a whole lot of crap about how good these guys are, i'll just give a song by song rating. 1. Confidence in confidenciality - 5/5 great song to open the album that you can jump around to. 2. Safe forever - 5/5 this song will only take you one listen to love and will have you singing the lyrics all day. 3. Take this for granted - 5/5 this was the first song that i heard of gyroscope off punkrockvids.com and i loved it so much that it encouraged me to by the cd. awesome song. 4. Hollow like cheyenne - 5/5 This song starts off slow, but then picks up in intensity very quickly. One of the best songs on the cd. 5. Doctor doctor - 5/5 This song rocks really hard. Another song that you can cut sick and jump around to. 6. Misery - 4/5 This song is very good. the only reason why its not 5/5 is because i dont think it quite matches up to the rest of the songs. a slower song than the rest. 7. Get down - 5/5 Awesome song 8. Midnight Express - 5/5 This song is very catchy and will have you singing the chorus all day. 9. Are you getting any better? - 4/5 great song, just isnt quite as catchy as the others, but is still a great song. 10. My hands are tied - 5/5 Good song, don't know how to describe it, its just a wicked song. 11. Driving for the storm - 6/5 My favorite song on the cd. Extremely catchy and there is not one flaw on this song. I love the drumming on this song. 12. You try waiting this long - 4/5 Decent song to end the album. starts slowly and then picks up. Overall, this is an awesome cd and should picked up from anyone who likes punk rock, pop punk, emo, sceamo or just rock. If you get a chance to see these guys live, definately do it. These guys rock live and have plenty of energy on stage. Gyroscope Rock!!!!!" Aussie Rock is back Timmy | Melbourne, Australia | 06/22/2004 (5 out of 5 stars) "Real Aussie rock has been a dying thing, with the punk rock aussie phase being the best performing act in the country, but since the first time i saw these guys live, i knew they were going to make it. now with their first full length cd 'Sound Shattering Sound' they are about to set and break new records, with songs that after one listen have you siging choruses over and over. also for those die hard gyro fans they have thrown in 3 favourites from the old eps for you to re-live the experience. with their new single 'Take This For Granted' and their smash single 'Safe Forever' on the cd as well they are already going to hook you in to getting it, and if the rest of the tracks like 'Get Down' 'Misery' and 'Confidence in Confidentiality' are anything to go by, there is not one cd out there that musically is better than this, go gyro you guys rock."
