"Day is a perfect English literature which was set by G.F.H. in 1739 to music John Drydens ode for of The St.Cecilia. Henry Purcell has taken care of this topic musically years before.
Day is " carried out my first meeting with this one ode for St. Celcilia with the purchase of the CD poduction from Concentus musicus Vienna under the management of the brilliant forefather of the historical processing, Nikolaus Harnoncourt. This compact-disc seemed personal to me as too brittle and therefore got no longer worn. Consort under the management of Robert King however is an extremely beautiful production the photo of the King. A splendid sound spreads, the unbelievable musical variety is offered in a masterly manner here. Moreover, the cantata still is " volgi Un squardo enclosed, Cecilia. Also a musical ear feast. This Hyperion CD may not be missing in any good CD collection. Again once a proof more for the heavenly Qualit of the music of the great George Frideric trade. Uwe from Herford in Westphalia, Germany
