Synopsis
Album Description Part harmonica wizard and part rhythmic explorer, Harper is a fiery artist who blurs the lines between rock, folk and blues. His use of the didgeridoo, an indigenous wind instrument of his native Australia, adds a world music element that, along with his compelling original songwriting and sublime vocals, gives Harper a distinctive sound entirely his own. The ten originals on Down To The Rhythm exhibit the virtuoso performances, distinctive instrumentation, instantly memorable songs, and deeply soulful groove that account for his rapidly growing popularity |
CD ReviewsPete harper shines through black betty | nsw ,aust | 07/17/2005 (4 out of 5 stars) "this new offering is a fine tribute to a truely unique aussie export.having heard this new cd it only confirms what i already new, pete is bound for bigger and better things. have a listen" Get's you to work quicker, happier Michael Ivanovich | Oak Park, Illinois, United States | 05/30/2007 (5 out of 5 stars) "I'm not a music reviewer, so this is going to come off simplistic, but what the heck. Harper opened for The Radiators at Fitzgeralds Roadhouse near Chicago a year ago. Both bands were great, but Harper was new and refreshing--and just plain fun. We bought the CD the next day and have been enjoying it since. Harper's music and lyrics make you smile, tap your feet, and drum the table, steering wheel, or whatever is within reach when it's playing. We would gladly pay to this band again and we anxiously await the next disc. " Absolutely Awesome The Towradgi Bodgie | 07/05/2005 (5 out of 5 stars) "The latest from Harper is an amazing showcase of his talents as a singer, songwriter, didge player & his unique harmonica style. His style cannot be classified, you have to listen.Just buy it, you won't regret it!"
