Synopsis

Album Description

Harry Belafonte is equally well known as a Calypso singer and an actor. He had numerous top charting albums in the '50s and '60s on RCA Records. One of those albums was The Midnight Special, which reached # 8 on the Billboard charts in 1962. What makes this album extraordinarily special is the first recorded appearance by Bob Dylan, backing up Mr. Belafonte on harmonica.

"Midnight Special is an album I was worried would never be turned into a CD. I am very happy my worries have been put to rest! The sound quality is outstanding. The first track, Midnight Special, has Bob Dylan playing harmonica. This music really show cases Belafonte's talent. On both Memphis, Tennessee and Makes A Long Time Man Feel Bad, Belafonte makes you feel the blues."
