"...and a wish is just a dream you wish would come true. Alright that's how this awesome album begins. Is the Patriarch the only one that knows this great album exists? This album is so great it crushes Nilsson's first two attempts and rises to what I can only call a masterpiece. This is a very bittersweet album that, except for a few tracks that are an exception, is very thought proving and melancholy. What really got me into this album is his amazing voice. He's got this vibrato thing going on and it something I've only heard him do.



The puppy song starts out this album is maybe the most cheerful track on here. Even it has sad themes about the singer wishing he just had a friend. Even a puppy will do.



Open your window how a really unique style to it that is just really relaxing and calm. A good simple love song about how love is just about all you need. Check out this awesome scat he does in the middle of the song.



City life is when the Album kicks into full gear. Nilsson's great voice is all over the place and the song is just a great ennui track about urban isolation.



Morning Glory story is in my opionion the highlight track. Depressing, beautiful, amazing. Nilsson is accompanied by just a string section which immediately differentiates it from the rest of the album.



Maybe is another spot-on hard hitting track that is very similar to the stuff you heard on the point except more adult oriented. The singer pines to his woman to come back to him, give him another chance. But she is in the arms of another. It's like the person is thinking to themselves what he would do to make it up to her. Once again, it's his voice that really sells it.



I guess the Lord must be in NYC another great urban isolation track. This really seems to be the theme of this album. Nilsson must have been very lonely or something at this point in his life. Almost every track is about loneliness in some way and the music just fits it perfectly.



The album ends with what I think are some weaker tracks. But the bonus track, I will take you there makes an awesome closing song which was added as a bonus track. Thanks God it was because it is amazing. This was from the Skidoo sound track and this is maybe the best version I've heard of it. This bittersweet song fits in absolutely on this album.



This album used to be on Amazon in a mass-market CD, but now it looks like there is only this expensive import. This is sad because now even less people will get to hear it. If you like good music just buy this album and put it on one rainy day. It will not disappoint!"
