"Much of Hasse's instrumental music was burnt up, when a cannon ball hit his house before it was published, and thus not much of it survives. Yet this recording shows what a loss that was!I found the playing very well balanced and the sound of the disc to be excellent. Some of these concertos seem to have an almost jazzy feel to them, and are played in a reverent but relaxed mode, which gives them a satisfying breath. The tone of the origional instruments and the program notes are good as well. No matter if you have heard of Hasse or not, this is understatedly a nice set of Baroque concertos that anyone could find attractive. I have listened to ALOT of new recordings of baroque on period instruments and this is one of the best on all counts."
