Album DescriptionThe Band was formed in the later part of 1995, and chose their name out of respect for the famed hub of the black bottom district surrounding Hastings Street, in the city of Detroit. This area was vibrant to the hub of the blues in it's heyday in the 50's and 60's. The musicians consist of Bob White-drummer, Christopher Kent-bass and vocal, Paul Washington-guitar and vocal, Johnny Roberts-keyboards and vocal, Connie Tate and Cubie vocals. The band has performed at Bert's Market Place, Memphis Smoke, The Attic, Fifth Avenue Billiards and the Anti-Blues Festival. They were also featured at the November 1996 Detroit Blues Society, and many other areas, in the state of Michigan, also. .out of State performances.The Hastings Street Blues Band recently released their first cd, intitled, Down On Hastings Street. Their music style is somewhat different, and consistof a fusion of traditional Blues, with a twist of comtemporary, topped with a lot oflaughs and fun.
