Wonderful performances

"Classic recordings by a great Haydn conductor, conveniently packaged together with the equally great performance (in English) of "The Seasons". Justly famous performances beautifully recorded and faithfully transferred to CD, on 6 CDs in compact sleeves.
ONE PROBLEM: In my box set, the CDs for the symphonies were ALL mislabelled; CD1 was actually CD3, CD2 was CD4, CD3 was CD1, and CD4 was CD2. I used a simple black felt marker pen to cross out and relabel the CDs; the 2 final CDs comprising "The Seasons" were correctly labelled.
5 out of 5 for the performances, but 4 out of 5 for the technical flaw mentioned above.
This is a cheap and convenient way to own all of the stereo Beecham Haydn recordings, and for that reason is strongly recommended."

"What attracted me initually to this release was the fact that EMI boasts this release as being completely stereo.I thought, could this really be?
The original LP release of Symphonies 93-98 were in Mono,as was the CD release by EMI some years back in the "Beecham Edition".I own the LP set,
so I was able to do an A-B comparison.Lo and behold, the new edition is still in mono in those first six symphonies.I also found the sound to be
far superior on the LP's.Shame on EMI for not being up front that this is
not a complete stereo set!I shall stick with those fabulous sounding Capitol LP's and shall promptly sell this set!!!"
