Way Outpaces expactions (for an lp started 30 years ago)

"If you are reading this, the likelihood that you own, say, Strange Affair on vinyl or one of the 2 cds of their first 4 albums is high; i.e. you already know this early 70's English band and its sad history. In any case this is a wonderful gift from another time: strange and haunting electric eclectic with an acoustic feel but also very contemporary in a psychedelic altcountry kind of way (before altcountry was a genre). This c.d was their swan song begun but never completed--- that is, until the original group (plus Kevin Spacey on drums for some tracks) got together to finish it up in '02/'03. In my opinion it's every bit as good as whichever is your former favorite Help Yourself album. If you don't know the early stuff, well, this would be a fine place to start. The cover, too, is an original Rick Griffin (of Bill Graham fame) painting."
