CD ReviewsHands On the Radio DaddyO H. Walsh | Burlington, NC United States | 02/24/2006 (4 out of 5 stars) "My good buddy BP sent me this little jewel on cassette back in '88, telling me that the promo for this album stated,". . .not just another skinny, longhaired kid with a guitar!" I think he also told me that Henry was J.C. Mellencamp's cousin. With that hype aside, I found this album to be a great collection of what I would refer to as garage style rock with Henry's killer "whiskey soaked" vocals. I loved his vocal banter on "Wish I Had a Girl," and thought the crunchy guitar chords and background babe vocals made it the perfect car cruisin' hit. I loved "Hands On the Radio" as an example of how those of us who grew up in the 70's got all of our new music from Casey Casem's Top 40. All of the other songs on this album are solid, if not as spectacular as the first three cuts. This is a perfect album to crank up while cruising with friends or cranking things up at a backyard BBQ. "Check it out, Leroy!"" Henry Lee at his best! (almost)! H. Walsh | 09/08/1999 (4 out of 5 stars) "This is the Henry Lee album all of his others will be measured by. "Wish I had a Girl" , "Wing Tip Shoes" , & "Got no Money" are all Henry Lee Classics. One of the keys to enjoying Henry Lee's music is to see one of his live performances. His work is so much more enjoyable once you've had a taste of his incredible charisma, energy level & stage presence. Move over James Brown, because in my book at least, HENRY LEE SUMMER is the hardest working man in show business!!!"
