"I have very little to say about this album other than it is the best driving cd that I have ever purchased. But, it also spends time in the home playing especially when I need a boost of energy. If you like up beat jazz and hip-hop then this is the cd for you. If you love trumpets and you want to see a "white boy" (herb was the first Caucasian I saw on BET) do it like Louis Armstrong then Herb Alpert "North on South St" is for you. Check it out I promise that you will not be disappointed. justice"

"The idea of this album was to take the hip-hop rhythms of the day and play some jazz on top. And for the most part it works. "Jump Street" really grooves with Alpert playing open and muted trumpet. Both the title song and "Na Na Na" conjure up images of latter day Miles Davis. Alpert's playing is a lot more jazzier than it used to be. And it closes with a beautiful ballad "Can't Stop Thinking About You". This is somewhat a MIDI-Jazz concept. And a pretty good one!"

"I had this cd a few years ago and unfortunately was stolen. I was surprise to find in on your web page. I received it and its EXCELLENT. The quality is good. I'm sitting here enjoying the smooth jazz. Thanks"
