"Herbert Groenemeyer came out with "Unplugged Herbert" in 1995 at the height of the "unplugged" season. Every other artist seemed to unplug him/herself, some with more, more with less success. Groenemyer's "Unplugged Herbert" is an example of an artist who can afford to go without the extras of modern technology. The CD, recorded with a live audience that is absoulutely going wild, contains most of Groenemeyer's best songs. The CD is a great mix of slow and fast songs, the fast songs played a notch faster than in earlier, plugged, recordings. If you are a German-speaker, the words to the songs will capture you with their depth, fun, and startling analysis of the Germany psyche and societal life. However, I know plenty of non-German speakers that love this CD!"
Probably Herbert's best

"This is Herbert Grönemeyer at his most versatile. Plain rock (Chaos), a ballad (Flugzeuge), an eerie lullaby (Halt Mich), political satire (Tanzen), cabaret (Manner), it's all there. Moreover, Grönemeyer holds his own very well without electric gadgetry, and he's more than ably supported by a host of first-rate musicians and a truly great audience. Grönemeyer's chemistry with the audience is almost tangible and you can hear all of them having great fun performing great music. Recommended without reservation."
