CD ReviewsIndescribably Beautiful peders | El Paso, Texas United States | 10/30/2003 (5 out of 5 stars) "This is my second recording from Manfred Cordes & Weser Renaissance - both are outstanding. This is also the second of only two recordings I have found featuring works of Heironymus Praetorius, a prolific polychoral composer from Hamburg circa 1600. First heard Heironymus Praetorius played on MPR's Pipedreams program over twenty years ago and was so moved as to have been searcing for his music ever since. The vocalists and musicians on this recording are superb, and the musical compositions are like nothing else. It is one of my favorites. If you like this recording, you should also listen to Gertrudenmusik on the Intim Musik label featuring the GOArts ensemble. It is very gratifying to see a resurgence of interest in both performing and preserving music of this era. If you like Heironymus Praetorius you might also like Heinrich Scheidemann."
