Louder and darker than these reviews suggest

(4 out of 5 stars)
"I purchased Livonia for my sister having only heard one track from it (in a Brothers Quay video) after reading the other Amazon reviews which describe it as "ethereal" "eery folk" with "heavenly vocals" that is "minimal without being minimalist", etc.--just like what my sister likes. (For example I also bought her a Julee Cruise album).
However she reports that Livonia "is quite industrial and actually made me slam on my brakes once when I was listening while driving because I thought there was something wrong with my car!" She describes it as "a little out there, even for me."
However, she adds (politely) that "the Livonia singer's voice is really amazing, you can tell she's been classically trained."
I gave it four stars because I suspect that I at least would really like it and that you will really like it if you are the sort of person that likes that sort of thing."
