Product DescriptionThe Honeydogs will release their 10th album, ''What Comes After'', on Minneapolis' Grain Belt Records on February 28th. Known for their constantly evolving musical style, The Honeydogs have found their sweet spot with this album. Merging the simpler stylistic sensibility of their early work with the more sophisticated music moments of their recent albums, What Comes After has the feel of a band who has come into their own. When making plans to record ''What Comes After'', The Honeydogs didn't set out to record a career-defining album. With Adam Levy already deeply involved in several other projects, he came to the studio with a few songs, some ideas and the determination to record quickly and with minimal labor. In the five and a half days in the studio, the band used mostly live vocal takes and the player s first instinctual performance, keeping to the plan of not laboring over anything. As the band tackled these new compositions, playing them together for the first time, the energy it sparked was audible and contagious. ''The great songwriter Jimmy Webb once said all of the great pop songs do one of two things: they express our deepest yearnings or our greatest regrets. Consciously, or not, the songs on What Comes After seem to line up thematically around those ideas,'' explains Levy. The universal themes lend themselves well to the combination of music that hints at darkness, owed to Levy's reignited Nick Drake and Leonard Cohen obsession, and the most hopeful and upbeat lyrics of Levy's career. With ''What Comes After'', The Honeydogs show us a band that continues to grow musically and a songwriter who is just reaching his pinnacle. The Honeydogs have performed and/or toured with Wilco, Cracker, Soul Asylum, INXS, Bon Jovi, Barenaked Ladies, Son Volt, Old 97's, Al Kooper, Los Lobos, and more. Their music appears on The Secretary, Sex In They City, Dawson's Creek, The Young & The Restless, Dennis Rodman Road Show, VH1 Fashion Show and more. The album was mixed by John Fields (Switchfoot, Mandy Moore, Jonas Brothers, Miley Cyrus, Pink).
