Horisont Debut is a Nice Surprise!

"I am not one to usually write reviews but wanted to help some out that may be on the fence about this as a purchase. For those not in the know, Horisont is one of the newest bands to come from Sweden. Over the last few years there has been a boom in the Swedish retro/stoner rock scene. Witchcraft, Graveyard,Troubled Horse, and Dead Man just to name a few. So how does this alblum stand up to the likes of the more established groups? Well they hold their own. I would consider them to be just a notch below Witchcraft but right on par with Graveyard. Their debut features 10 tracks and right off the bat starts out with a bang. The short but sweet Nightrider will give you an idea of what this band is capable of. Just Ain't Right is a more up tempo groove. Just a nice variety from begining to end of moody guitar riffs, bluesy vocals and tracks in English and a few in Swedish such as Du Rode and Visa Vagen. Yeah, the $20 price tag may be high for some but anyone that really enjoys their stoner/doom rock would be hard pressed to find a newer release better than this. I am very happy with my purchase and can't wait to see what the future will hold for Horisont."
