"I have purchased over 20 chutney CDs in the past few years, and I have to say this is by far the best I have ever heard! I have been looking in vain for something as good as this since it came out. If you are a soca lover, like international sounds, or just love to dance, this CD is for you!"
Great Stuff!

"'Chutney' music was born in the southern Caribbean as a cross-pollination of traditional Hindu devotional songs with West Indian rhythms. First introduced to a wider audience in Trinidad and Guyana by the likes of Sundar Popo in the 1970s, it made the cross-over into the Trinidadian mainstream in the 90s with the growth of Chutney Soca. Although I have not heard this particular CD, I am familiar with most of the songs on it. This CD presents an excellent introduction to the artform, combining more traditional Chutney stars like Sundar Popo and Anand Yankaran with newcomers to Chutney including Soca stars like Ajala and Homefront, a creative band that was part of the movement that redefined Rapso in the early 90s. Overall, I highly recommend this CD for anyone wanting to expand their scope in music and learn something about the next big thing in Caribbean music, combining some of the best of India and the Caribbean."

"This CD is a wonderful testimony to the exciting musical artform that is Chutney. Trinidad's East Indian and African heritages have never been so completely represented in one CD before."
