"This music would be right at home on the "Computer Music Series" put out by Wergo. It is complex, engaging, and subtle music. Other than that I can't even begin to describe what you will hear. However, here are a few excerpts from the linear notes to describe the process behind what you hear.
"The Hub is a network band...that blends elements of composition and improvisation in a unique musical context." The musicians design pieces for a computer network and use "data exchange protocol" to specify "what data is to be exchanged between the players."
Finally, as you can probably tell, the linear notes are great. They give a rich history of the group, the indiviual players, and each composition. It is a three CD set, so there is plenty of music to keep you busy for awhile!
The band members are: John Bischoff, Chris Brown, Tim Perkis, Mark Trayle, Phile Stone, Scot Gresham-Lancaster.
