"Anyone who likes violin music, and musicians and fiddlers in particular, should fall
immediately in love with one of the worlds finest living violinists. His is the artistry that unlocks the beauty of these unjustly neglected concertos. I have been collecting recorded music for 60 years and these are so special I did not catalog them. They simply sit on my shelf of about 50 favorites where they are close at hand for my continued enthrallment. This is fine music, masterfully and musically played. Hooray for Vilmos! No worry about the sound; it is very natural and the orchestra is not the Berlin, but the members are so commited to music they have in their blood, that is comes off very well indeed.
By the way, there are a few other recordings by Szabadi that are available and equally wonderful. I intend to track, with Amazon's help, anything new that he commits to disk. I expect nothing less than continued beauty in this young man's playing. I also own chamber music with Szabadi and friends and it is just great.
Again, so musical."

"I can't imagine a romantic era violin concerto lover overlooking this CD. The four rarely played concertos are brought to life by the spectacular Hungarian violinist Vilmos Szabadi. Listen to him play his heart out in the first movement of the fourth concerto (Concerto all'antica)! Enjoy! This CD is a real find!"
