"I've been a Hubert Kah fan since 1984, finding tracks here and there in a few film soundtracks. This German release is the essential Hubert Kah, displaying their talent for making their music many things at once: upbeat, haunting, and beautiful. "Engel 07" was more popular in the club circut in the U.S. in an English recorded version as "Angel 07" for the film "Gotcha!" "Wenn Der Mond Die Sonne Beruhrt" was later recorded in English as "The Picture" to be included in the film "Once Bitten." There are numerous mixes of both "Angel 07" and "The Picture" which are worthy of hunting down for your collection. Hearing these songs and the others on this album in the original German form is a treat. Sure, there is that 80s "sound" in there too, but I'd rather listen to that than the muck that is trying to be passed off as music today! Let's face it, the 80s were immensely creative years in music, which makes it all the more fun to discover a band like Hubert Kah even now if you haven't heard them before. All of Hubert Kah's albums are worth owning, but make sure you make Goldene Zeiten an important part of your collection. The only downside to this album is that it's just too short! Maybe someday a re-issue with bonus tracks (of the remixes, perhaps) would be a welcome thing!"
