"This album by huffamoose is incredible... The songs are unique and beautiful, and they have such wonderful lyrics. Craig Elkins' voice is very seductive and sexy, and he, along with the rest of the band, is truly a genius."

"One word describes this CD: strong. Huffamoose is a quartet of well-educated, dexterous guys-next-door who make up one of the tightest, yet fun-loving and mellow bands that I've ever seen/heard. I purchased this CD at a small Huffamoose show in Philadelphia in 1993. The show rocked and so does this CD. "I Can't Turn Around" is a toe-tappin' tune that will make you want to move. The mysterious "Song About Nothing" starts out slow but finishes up with a head-bobbin, free-form jam. "James" and "I Wanna Buy You A Ring" are smooth, sentimental songs that will always make you think of your significant other. Craig Elkins' suave voice/lyrics, Kevin Hanson's rippin' guitar leads, Erik Johnson's solid drums/sweet background vocals along with "The Reverend" Jim Stager's funky rides up and down the neck of his bass, make Huffamoose's self-titled debut one of the strongest CD from start to finish that I've ever heard."

Well, I like it more the 'Had Again'

"If you like Huffamoose because of their Steely Dan influence, you'll probably like this debut more than 'Had Again' (this influence is apparent as early as the first bar of the first track). Throw in a little Police (sans Copeland on drums -- THOSE are a bit heavy at times), and you've got a truly wonderful aural experience here !! Nothing on 'Had Again' sounds "forced" mind you, but compared to this debut, 'Again' seems like they're reading from sheet music. Awfully laid back, yet firm, and VERY, VERY groovin', dude ... includes a version of "Jane" that makes their "radio version" sound like "Flower Gooving For Dummies." There's also a "song about absolutely nothing ... nothing at all ...," which is your typical pseudo-angst-ridden-Steely-Dan-esque tune, except this one does not only NOT SUCK, but is terribly interesting."
