"Welcome the Hurricane back! I 1st heard of this band back in the mid 80's when a friend gave me a copy of their ep "Take What You Want"! Their next release "Over The Edge" had "i'm Onto You" and the title track, to name a few that you may have heard. Those 2 got video airplay on MTV. By the time their 3rd album came along in 1990 the scene was changing, and "Slave To The Thrill", their best to date, slipped through relatively un noticed. That was the last I had heard from these guys, although some members went on to pursue other musical projects. Now here in 2001 original members Kelly Hansen (vocals) and Jay Schellen (drums)have recorded an all out winner! The cd rocks from begining to end! River Gold is a nice starter track, but it's the 2nd song :new God" that will hook you! Some of the tracks have a more modern feel but they all retain that hard charging feel from the good ole days! Screaming guitars, harmony vocals and great songs and production are all here! This isn't a hair band sound, it's hard rock! It's blue collar like the harder edge of Tesla! This cd gets better the more I listen to it!Dave"
Hurricane - Rockin' Better Than Before

"If you remember this band from the early '90s, you may remember "I'm On To You...na, na, na, na, na, na". No, not Journey, but lead singer, Kelly Hansen, does 2 Journey tribute songs on a new Tribute CD. Singer, Kelly Hansen, and drummer, Jay Schellen, are the only two members from the original band of the '90s. Kelly Hansen's vocals are stronger and the songs are not glamourous like hard rock became in the early '90s. A Warr Guitar is used on one song. Just an example of the band becoming more sophisticated. If you like this medlodic hard rock with a new twist (not Alternative), pick this up. Kelly Hansen has done tribute songs for Journey, VH, Bon Jovi, Def Leppard, and the Scorpions. He also got together with Tim Donohue, who uses a Harp Guitar and Fretless Guitar. And he sang with Joe Lynn Turner on Stuart Smith's CD (Ritchie Blackmore influenced)."

"Thank god they game back. Kelly Hansen is the ax master. This is their best CD in a long, these bad boys roar in with F5 fury. Freakin' unforgetable, there is no eye to this record. Hail to the Kelly "The King" Hansen. Let it rain, let it RAIN!"

"A MUST have for Hurricane and 80's Rock lovers. You'll love the intro to River Gold with it's references to previous Hurricane recordings."
Probably the most cohesive album this band has ever recorded

"Although only two original members of the group are in the lineup that recorded this album, this is probably the most cohesive release the band has ever done. Unlike previous releases which seemed to feature some great songs and some filler, the songs on this one are more consistent and stronger. Much better than Slave To The Thrill, but I kind of miss the guitar sound Robert Sarzo (original lead guitarist) seemed to bring to the group. 3 1/2 stars, but this one is worth rounding up. It is on a smaller label, so my advice is to pick it up while it's still in print."
