Synopsis

Album Description
A full-length debut so ambitious and assured, it seems the work of a much more established band. From the baroque Latin chorus that opens the CD to the punishing guitar overdrive of the first video/single "Pretty People Never Lie - Vampires Really Never Die", "Lovers' Requiem will take fans of the first EP's ("We Are Always Searching") haunting melodicism to new symphonic heights. For fans of My Chemical Romance, AFI.

CD Reviews

A must have in any good CD collection

"This is the band to watch for in 2007. Their newest release will draw you in from the first note all the way to the very end and will have you coming back for more. The blending of the instruments complimented by the violin is genius. Steve has a powerful voice, with Kerith's soothing tone brings it all together nicely. If you are a fan of A.F.I., HIM, Nightwish or Lacuna Coil then you will definately love I Am Ghost."
"Only the lonely can know what it feels to decay."

"I am not normally a fan of bands like AFI or My Chemical Romance but I'd always had a strange curiosity when it came to I Am Ghost and those good feelings really paid off because I was not at all disappointed in their first full-length album. LOVERS' REQUIEM is a welcome change for me and I find myself liking it more and more each time I listen to it, and I've been listening non-stop for about a week now. The lead vocals are greatly done by Steve whose vocals are neither too harsh nor feminine, combining mostly clean vocals in with the ocassional scream. Those in turn are nicely balanced by Kerith's female vocals which immediately bring to mind Lacuna Coil. I also like the subtle inclusion of the violin mixed in with their blend of metal, post-punk, and gothic rock riffs. There's even a few moments of baroque Latin choral flourishes that make this band stand out from its peers as being unafraid of experimenting "outside the box", and I hope they continue down this path rather than conforming to the masses.

It's actually very hard for me to pick favorites because they're all really good but I do tend to play "Of Masques and Martyrs", "Lovers' Requiem", "We Are Always Searching", and "Beyond The Hourglass" quite profusely.

I Am Ghost is definitely a band to watch out for, and they are not to be compared by those less worthy of such praise."
Wow!
