Not I-Roy's Best - But there's a few half-decent tracks...

"This album is weak in relation to his better stuff - there are a few marginally decent tracks like Fire Stick but even those are nowhere near the quality of the real I-Roy hardcore roots stuff. Right now I'm listening to an album called "Reggae Best: I-Roy" and it's way way better and more authentic sound. I'm a big I-Roy fan from days of old, so trust me - get the real ting! Peace!

"i was first introduced to this album around three years ago when, as a junior in college, i went abroad to england to study for a semester. one of my english classmates invited me to his house and in showing me his music collection put on i-roy's heart of a lion. i knew then, even after listening to the first track, that i had to purchase the album. i looked for it at the local stores but was not able to find it. fortunately, i was able to pick it up shortly after returning to the states. this album is a gem. the dub is awesome!!! the bass-line and horn...the drums...and of course, i-roy lyrically kicks reason to i and i mind. it is also a good album to skank to or simply relax with. my favorite tracks are: heart of a lion, sister nelly(so good!!!), camas town, catty rock, and tiddle le bop.what are you doing? run to your local reggae outlet and get it!
peace and love"
The unique sound of I Roy

"This is more than just a reggae album.I Roy has an original sound, with tasteful dub and reverb. The lyrics are great too. I like the way he uses snatches of nursery rhymes and Bible quotes (not many) in some of his songs.Reggae is not my normal listening fare, but I love this album and listen to it a lot."
