"Yes, the immensely talented vocalist for Prog-Metal icons ELEGY has issued a majestic solo album that honestly is better than anything I've heard from ELEGY lately! Consortium Project, a veritable triumph of the will, prominently displays Ian's silken Gillan-like vocal musings as well as his potent composing ability! While distinctly Metal, the Progressive element seeps through within the Jens Johannsen/ELP-ish keyboard work (and isn't it usually the keys that normally give the impression of a Prog feel, or am I hallucinating within the confines of the album?), and the arrangements possess an exceptionally imperial effect that is quite humbling! The vibrant regalia of musical color and glossy energy is almost impossible to comprehend without actually listening to it's hypnotic AOR-ity. One is almost given the impression that Ian Parry is of royal blood, for each track is likened to an addressing to the simple townsfolk of the Metal community. While not overly pompous, there is a definite atmosphere of sophistication that immediately sets Ian apart from the masses, perhaps it dwells within his technique, his affiliation with KAMELOT front man Thom Youngblood, or perhaps the man just knows exactly what he's doing!"
