Excellent music, but this album has been superseded

"The one star review certainly doesn't reflect my opinion of Idris Muhammad, but there is no longer any point to this compilation album, since Prestige Records have now brought out a CD which combines the "Black Rhythm Revolution" and "Peace and Rhythm" albums. All the tracks on this one are from those two albums anyway - I'd say this is a pity since the for my money, Idris' best work is on the two CTI albums "House of the Rising Sun" and "Power of Soul" but presumably there were copyright issues since the CTI albums are still in print. If you see this album for cheap, then it's worth picking up but not otherwise."

"You can't miss on IDRIS MUHAMMAD. Any album with this man's name on it is solid groove after groove and there's plenty of em' out there. Check out all the Prestige "Legends of Acid Jazz" series which have (2) albums on (1) CD of some of the pioneers of JAZZFUNK/SOULJAZZ from 1969 & 1970. Over half of the albums have Idris on them- other players knew who could hold down the tight funk rhythm's. Also check out his POWER OF SOUL album for some laid back-late night groove's. I have many CD's with Idris Muhammad on them and they are all gold to me."
