"LOVED this album in High School. Swingin' stuff, with huge horns, great vocals on very memorable songs. Used to turn my friends on to this, as few people had ever heard of them...they thought it was a fab album indeed! Sadly, I subsequently lost the album, so I am delighted it has been reissued! I just wish Amazon would let you sample the tunes, you'd hear what I mean!"

"Great to see this reissued. i use to own a vinyl copy back in the days of vinyl. This falls in the jazz rock (not really jazz rock fusion) side of things with a soft machinesque influence , specially in the grooves, with an english rock and Santana (!) and maybe a bit of Blood sweat and tears or chicago influence... but not so much. Any ways this is a strong record and i beleive the best they ever did. Also the tunes are really well composed and extremely 'catchy'. Will be circling your mind for weeks after a few spins."

"Read my write up for IF 3.
IF 1 and Live in Europe 72 are the start and end of a great lineup. Buy them both. Skip 2 & 3 and all four weak attempts without the second reeds player. Forgotten Roads is a Best of, and is a great mix, but strangely does not include "Your City is Falling" , but luckily that song is on the Live album. Also strangely, the live version of What did I say About the Box Jack is the weakest song on the live album.
If is very hard to locate in Amazon, because a zillion Disk titles hold the word "if". Thank you Repetoire and Castle for beating Capital to the punch and realizing that there is a market for this classic stuff. The Live in Europe '72 disk even contains the meaning of the title What Did I Say About the Box, Jack?"
