"I don't usually much go for rehearsal,out takes or remix disc titles,but 'Wild Love' is a cut above any other CD I've heard of such material.The sound is great,I think.It tends to have a vintage feel to it.Most if not all these tracks were recorded between 1973-early 1974.The tunes that I was sort of taken away with were "Hey Baby",the Cream cover "I'm So Glad",the Dylan tune "Ballad Of Hollis Brown","Old King Live Forever" and their Bo Diddley cover,the ass-kicking "I'm A Man".A must-have for all Iggy/Stooge fans."

"If you must hear everything the Stooges ever did then buy this. If you are new to rock and roll as distilled to its essense, well, come back later. Here are Iggy and the boys in the studio, pockets stuffed with Bowie's production company's gold, making various gurglings and howls--and most are entertaining. There is a nicely obscene version of "I'm a Man," as well as the infamous "Pin Point Eyes." Overall, it's a fun piece; actually, it's the band's autopsy."

"Ah, the fabulous Stooges. I don't believe there is such thing as a perfect band, but the Stooges damn well are the closest to perfection as any rock band can get. According to the liner notes, the title "The Detroit Rehearsals" is a bit of a misnomer since there is no absolute confirmation on whether these songs were actually recorded in Detroit (the band resided in Los Angeles and New York for a while). This CD is essentially a raw look at the inner workings of the Stooges, complete with takes from various rehearsals as well as few covers of old blues tunes. With this disc, it becomes blatantly obvious where the Stooges' musical influence comes from (if you didn't catch on already), but listening to this is tantamount to being at the actual rehearsal. If you're into a polished work and soft musical delicacies, you might want to avoid this record. But, if you are into dirty, filthy rock and roll and you have all the Stooges releases, (The Stooges, Funhouse, Raw Power) then this might be a release worth obtaining. I stress that it is more of an item for completists, so if you are new to the band, I suggest starting with any of the studio albums."
