"This is a compilation by the French label Revenge featuring tracks from it's Stooges releases. Their material tends to be a little more rare but also with worse sound quality than their chief Stooges rival Bomp!. Disc 2 which is from the Whiskey a Go Go in L.A. can especially be described as crappy, even though "She Creatures..." & "Open Up & Bleed" are two of my favorite performances. The second half of disc 1 are poor sounding studio tracks. It's takes several listens to realize their greatness. Songs 3,4, & 5 sound like they came from the "Rough Power" compilation, different mixes of "Raw Power" songs before Bowie got a hold of them. Tracks 1 & 2 are the only ones I haven't really heard before. They are alternate versions of "I Wanna Be Your Dog" & "1970" mixed differently so you hear all of Iggy's vocals twice. I don't know if someone fiddled with them later, or if this seemed like a good idea to Iggy at the time. The packaging is pretty cool, with several pictures I've never seen before in the dozens of other compilations I've bought over the years, but you might not want to spend all this money, considering what you get, unless you're really rabid, or you don't have these tracks already."
