CD ReviewsThe most dynamic duo in pop history LIVE !!!!!! 05/10/2001 (5 out of 5 stars) "The "Live in Paris" concert is together with "What you hear is what you get" concert recorded in 1971 at Carnegie Hall, the best live recording of Ike and Tina (+the great Ikettes!) available. Much better than the live album "The world of Ike and Tina" which followed in 1973. Get this album and enjoy some real soul, R&B and Rock from the best live band of all time....The Ike and Tina Turner Revue..." Great CD But Needs REMASTERING! Alex Honda | Los Angeles, CA USA | 01/17/2008 (4 out of 5 stars) "The IKE & TINA TURNER: LIVE IN PARIS 1971 cd set captures the excitement of the live concert of the duo as they roar through Paris. The Ikettes sound great as the opening act, and once Tina hits the stage she tears it up! Even though this cd was released in 2004 it was not re-mastered. It sounds fine, but two cds for this short a concert? The first cd is just a little over 30-minutes and cd #2 only has 6 tracks. They could've combined all the tracks onto one cd, which is why I suspect this hasn't been remastered (Saturday Night Fever soundtrack was issued on two cds at first but once it was digitally remastered it was issued on one cd). But since this was made in the Netherlands maybe they don't have the technology yet. Unfortunately, if you own any of the other Ike & Tina "live" cds, you'll find more of the same on this one. I guess it was part of their act but you'll end up with the same songs like "A love like yours don't come knockin...," "Respect," "Land of a 1000 dances," and "I smell trouble." Unless you're a die-hard fan and absolutely want the same songs but different performances, I think the better live cd set is on disc #3 of The Ike & Tina Turner Story [3CD] which was just released this past November and is remastered. But it does not include the live version of "Proud Mary."" Best live rythym and blues album ever endwhitesupremacy | oakland, ca | 02/07/2003 (5 out of 5 stars) "The guitar is gritty, and Tina sings with her whole body, the sound is urgent, cathartic, and when she and the guitar start to talk to each other, something happens that is so graceful, so natural, yet so unpredictable, so fierce... you have to hear it to love it...."
