This eighth volume in the Musical Heritage of the Jews from France collection presents four essential works by Serge Kaufmann: his "Yiddish Suite" in an intimate cello and guitar version; the CD debut of the string trio "Memorah"; the sublime "Neshama" for solo cello; and the cantata "Ima or the mother dispossessed," a cry of pain expressing the musical quintessence of the composer's musical art.
