"Well, If you have several CDs of Patrice Caratini in your collection and you are fond of its music style, this CD is a must Have. "Le Crabe" is a new version completely different than the one you can find on "Endeka" album.very good stuff indeed!"

"Patrice Caratini, baixista (acustico) extraordinairre, composer, leader of his "not so world famous" Onztette...a fantastic musician who is quite unknown in the USA, but well respected otherwise.
A SHAME! Gustavo Beytelemann, another hidden secret from Argentina, on Piano,
and a favorite of mine in the tradition of the Argentine bandoneon , Juan-José Mosalini !trio interaction, telepathic and soulful, the pulse of the tango, meeting occasionally with the jazz and French "Valse-musette" traditions . Europe and South America were never more married in sound.
For fans of maestro Piazzola, and the eclectic Dino Saluzzi, this modern reading of jazz/nuevo-tango is right up your alley, " no hay pero que valga!"As the previous review indicates, Patrice Caratini(As well as don Gustavo and don Juan -José also ) has recorded extensively, but very hard to procure these sounds in US. If you are lucky to find anything of their works in the used stores, both in cyberspace and "real time", I would suggest to grab while you can, these artistas seem relegated to an undeserved obscurity stateside.I also agree the composition "Le Crabbe" , previously recorded by Monsieur Caratini's "Endeka" ensemble is the highlight.It is nice that this cd was listed in Amazon still avaliable used (at this writing), I know "Label Bleu" is still in business and the cd may become avaliable again in the near future.It is no accident Buenos Aires used to be referred as "the Paris of South America"! Here is some grande musical "evidence" that was so!"
