"I wish I had a decent description for Imagination's type
of music.I really don't but the most I can say is that I've never heard anything else quite like it-Imagination's sound was and is totally original.I suppose the best way to explain it is a very glossy variation of American dance-funk and European
electronica. The title track, with it's pounding beat is probably the closest thing to pure funk on this album.Meanwhile "So Good,So Right","Burnin' Up","Tell Me Do You Want My Love" and
the unforgettable "Flashback" all have that patented Imagination sound I've been trying to explain-a sound that I suppose gave birth to both the dance-pop and house movements of the later part of the decade. But it's "I'll Always Love You (But Don't Look Back)" that surprised me so much-it's a stripped down ballad performed only on acoustic piano and proves that this trio had the skilled songwriting abilities to back up their
purpulsive beats and rhythms. All of these qualities make 'Body Talk' an essencial for anyone interested not only in great music but any fan of early 1980's dance and funk."
