"I had heard people talking about this band so i diecided to pick up a copy of their cd. This one was the only one in the store at the time so i bought it. I took a listen and i was wowed! The album is a death metal masterpiece! Ross Doland has a great voice. With the music, the guitars use a lot of odd time changes and the guitars themselves sound not like a usual death guitar. A lot of harmonics in this that make the songs sound more evil than they already are. THis was also the last cd with origional drumm Craig Smilowski ( not sure on spelling ). They should have kept him. the new drummer is nothing like craig was. craig is super fast and has one of the most brutal double bass blasts ever! possibly one of the best drummers in the world. I would recommend this to any death head just it will take time to get used to at first because of the odd style. If you hate this cd give it another listen because it grows on you. This is also a lot better than Failures for Gods, and the production is much better. guitars dont sound as muddy. This is probably their best cd, and i recommend you get dawn of possesion, another masterpiece. over all this is one great Death metal cd!any fan of cannibal corpse, suffocation, or anything in that genre will love this cd!"
Christ's cage

"Immolation's second is proudly and defiantly metal. Vigna and Wilkinson spit out massive riffs with a furious dissonant edge as Ross Dolan bellows. My favorite song, by far is Christ's cage, particularly when everything briefly stops and Ross goes "BUH". Percussion has a free jazz flavor with a great deal of Lombardoesque fills, especially in how Smilowski rides the toms. Craig does sort of a running multi-textured blast with heavy emphasis on hypnotic cymbal rhythms. Songwriting is some of the strongest in the genre as demonstrated in Nailed to gold and I feel nothing. While I'm a big fan of Alex Hernandez, Craig Smilowski's performance on this album is superb. Highly recommended."

"I love all of the IMMOLATION CD'S but this is the unholy grail to me. I listen every day,it never leaves the CD player. Its brutal and even melodic at times which is cool. This band literally puts bands like morbid angel, deicide, suffocation to shame. Trust me ,pick it up if you can find it. P.S CHECK OUT THE STORE AT officialabyssrecords.com,ITS ALL METAL,No r/b,dance,or rap crap"

"More stuff in the vein of their first album, 'Dawn of Possesion.' Excellent stuff; the sound on this one is a little more varied, the rhythms a little more intricate. I'd tend to say get the first one first, and if you like that, grab this one as well. Definitely if you like either one you should get the other. It's a bit shortish, like their first one (like 35 minutes?), but hey, quality over quantity."
