"I wasn't that big of a fan of the previous two albums by Impending Doom, but there is something about this album that will make you smile b/c it's so good! I remember the first time I heard Job for a Cowboy and As I Lay Dying's An Ocean Between Us - I started giggling like a little school girl I was so excited. - Sounds lame, but there are a few albums, that when they show up, remind you how good the metal scene can be. This album by Impending Doom is one of those albums. The title track and The Great Fear are songs that will make it to your "work-out" mix on your iPod for sure.
The first listen through, I was reminded of As I Lay Dying, only on steroids after watching The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. After further investigation (I opened the cd case and read the credits) I found that Tim Lambesis (AILD frontman)produced the vocals, guest sang on the 3rd track, and his studio recorded the album. This may may be the reason that I was reminded of AILD when I gave the cd a turn, but I don't know.
This album shows a lot of promise of what Impending Doom will bring to the table in the coming years. I think they will maintain and grow their fan base with this record. If you like Grindcore, Death Metal, or Metalcore, do yourself a favor and buy this album, and then go tell your friends, your wife, your parents, even your dog.

Like no Doom you've ever heard...

"I was a bit hesitant when I first heard this album, but as I've listened to it probably over 20 times, I've come to the conclusion that this album sounds like no other. From the drop-G guitars to the throaty bass to the masterful drums, There Will Be Violence is easily the best album that Impending Doom has released. Every song sounds unique, and the more you listen to them the more you can appreciate the talent that has gone into making them.
My only gripe with the album that it is, yet again, too short. Some of the songs are a bit short in length, and the album itself could use with another song or two, but what it does contain is phenomenal.
I really hope that this album get's Impending Doom more of the limelight, because they're definitely a force in the metal world that is to be reckoned with."
