CD Reviews

Respectable Debut...
Jason Ryan | VA | 03/04/2004
(4 out of 5 stars)

"Great Beats, Great Guest Apperences, Great Flows, But still Average Lyrics...I love this album, but not for the lyrical content, they pretty much follow the standard gangsta/street formula...But, Alchenist & Havoc provide very dark, gritty, and chilling beats which blend perfectly with Twin Gambino's dark, gritty and chilling voice...Godfather remains the strongest of the three Lyrically, while Ty Nitty completes the triangle with his lisping Kool G Rap-like voice & flow...Buy this album if you like any of the following artists: Mobb Deep, Nas, Cormega, Littles, Big Noyd, Tragedy Khadafi, Nature, Screwball, Capone N Noreaga, Kool G Rap, MOP..."
The power of the Mobb

(5 out of 5 stars)

"Infamous Mobb, put on by none other than the Infamous Mobb Deep, have come with one of the most impressive QB debut albums since Nas's Illmatic. First off, this album sports some of the most amazing production I have ever heard, typical QB NYC gritty style. You've heard these cats before, whether its Twin Gambino on Prodigy's "Cant Complain" or GOD Pt III on Soul Assassins II, you know these cats got skill. The first song "IM3", a ill track produced by the Alchemist, starts the album off nicely. It gets better from there. "Born Again" with Hostyle from Screwball, "Killa Queens" and "Mobb Niggaz" which both feature Prodigy are the standout tracks in the first 10. Showing that this is basically a QB party, Havoc turns up on "We Dont Give A...", which sports a beat that is worth the listen alone. "We Will Survive" also appeared on Soul Assassins II but fits in nicely here. The only track worth skipping is the Intro and that shows a lot about this should be classic album. I don't usually give out 5 stars unless it is fully deserved and this album fully deserves it. Classic QB material."
This CD is hot

"Any fan of Mobb Deep or Capone-n-Noreaga should go cop this now. Every beat is blazin and the lyrics are nice too. I listened to Track 8 once and then I went and bought the CD. This is one that you can let play all the way through. Anyone who didn't give this 5 stars doesn't know tight rap music. In my mind it's a classic. One."
