"If you're not familiar with Celestial Navigations, they are stories, usually with fitting music, told by Geoffrey Lewis. He has a deep, somewhat gravelly and very expressive voice. He has been in so many films and TV shows that he is very familiar - you will remember his voice even if you don't remember who he is (do a search and see what I mean). I always thought that he had been a regular on Dukes of Hazard but that is one of the few shows that is not on his filmography. The only problem with this CD is that there are only four stories and they are all available on other CDs that have a lot more stories on them. If you aren't sure and want to save some money by buying the introduction, by all means - DO. This is an excellent CD. All the stories are gems. The Mouse is a story about the perception of goings on around Christmas from the the point of view of a mouse.The Train is a story of taking a train on Christmas Eve and the thoughts conjured up in the storytellers mind by a yound lady in the same car. I cannot do the story justice - it is on the level of Garrison Keillor's Lake Wobegon stories. The Back Porch is phenomenal. It is a story about talking to his girlfriend on the back porch one evening when she asks him what is the most pleasurable moment he has ever had. Avoiding the easy answer, he starts recalling the best moments of his life (not Lewis' life ... it could have been anyone's life). You will love this story and the surprising answer to the question.Horses is less esoteric and is told in a dialect. It is a suspenseful story about taking horses aboard ship and what happens when they hit the doldrums (sp?). Very good. Captivating."
