CD ReviewsQuirky collection of rare/obscure tracks Andy Van Pelt | San Diego, CA United States | 12/18/2000 (3 out of 5 stars) "Since Amazon doesn't have a track listing (at least when I wrote this), here it is:From The World [67:59] 1: Ol' Man River [4:03] English. I can't listen to this one. Available several places 2: Havah Nagila [2:49] Not my taste, but I think he does a good job. 3: La Paloma [3:23] Only place you can get this on CD 4: Mutters Hande [2:57] Not my taste. Available several places 5: Freu Dich [3:23] This could have been so good, but isn't. 6: Ave Maria (Albinoni) [3:53] One of my favorites. 7: Sonny Boy [3:04] English. Not my taste. Shudder. 8: La Montanara [2:58] Not my taste, but well done. 9: Amazing Grace [3:23] German. Much better than I feared. Only place you can get this on CD.10: Vous Qui Faites L'Endormie [3:02] French. A Great! track11: Plaisir D'Amour [3:38] Very nice.12: Leben Dein Leben [3:17]13: Santa Lucia [2:15] Only place you can get this on CD.14: Barcarolle [3:14]15: Maria (from West Side Story) [3:01] German. Turned out *very* well.16: La Calunnia [4:33] Italian. Very good17: Ah, Si J'etais Riche [4:50] French. This is the version also available on the Ses Plus Grands Succes CD.18: Greensleeves [3:22] German. Not *too* bad. Only place you can get this on CD.19: Ave Maria (Bach-Gounod) [2:47]20: Komm Mit Auf Die Reise [2:57] German. Also available on the Komm Mit Nach Hellas. Very fun track. This is another Italian production, along with Kalinka & Stenka Rasin. However, I detected no distortion or dropouts on this CD. I think this CD is a great bargain, as you can get 4 tracks available nowhere else that I'm aware of, and you get some other tracks that are great (Albinoni Ave Maria, L'Endormie, Maria, La Calunnia). A lot depends on whether the other quirky tracks appeal to you or not."
