"That's really all there is to say about this band, and the others like them; hipster "metal" for guys in their sister's pants.



I won't go the route of the caveman shouting about RAR TRUE METAL; that's not the point, the point is that this isn't interesting, fresh or new; they're not doing anything that Mr. Bungle or Circle Takes the Square did before them. Possessing some semblance of talent is what separates those 2 bands from this run of the mill garbage.



Remember Limp Bizkit and Crazy Town; same thing; people who don't know a thing about anything will think this is some kind of cuh-razy new genre of music; those of us who've been in the know for some time will just sit there and snicker."

Many Good Parts, but some of it gets a bit boring...

"Overall I enjoyed this album, although I feel the formula is just like all the other hardcore/scene kid/whatever metal scene (verses/chorus/verses/break down/another break down/break down during the break down), but as previously stated, I still enjoyed the album. The band managed to add some good little pieces that you don't normally hear, (like whack job country parts for ex.) It was also produced by Ross Robinson (Slipknot's first two albums) which I think helped bring forth a lot more of the band's heaviness. The vocalist is amazing (and she out screams a big handful of other screamers, but sometimes when she switches to singing she sounds like Morgan from Kittie). My only real problem with this album is some of the songs ("White in the Water Morning," "The Cat's Pajamas," and "Black-Eyed Bush" to be exact) are boring to me. I would recommend this album to anyone who is into hardcore, or experimental metal, for I don't think it would be a waste of your money to purchase, but for everyone else just download "Danger in the Manger," and "Tastes like Kevin Bacon," from somewhere to achieve your fix of Iwrestledabearonce.



Oh, and this band keeps getting labeled as grindcore, which it is DEFINITELY NOT! Grindcore is death metal done in 1 minute or less (correct me if I am wrong, but that is always how it was explained to me) and if you want grindcore get Cattle Decapitation's first two albums (Human Jerky, and Homovore) anything from the Locust, or Pig destroyer..Caninus.....etc."
