CD Reviews

Authentic and Emotional

"I first encountered Jay as a lounge singer in Honolulu in the late 1970s and bought this CD back then. Over the years, I've pulled it from the shelf and re-lived the wonderfully authentic and emotional moments of evenings sipping Scotch and listening to Jay at the piano. Today, this CD is a staple on my iPod, along with all the classics by artists far more famous - but never more relevant - than Jay Larrin. This is a classic touch of humanity coming through in songs that touch your heart as few songs can. "Annie and Jessie" and "Somewhere Between the Laughter and the Tears" take me to a place I want to be and want the world to be. Thanks, Jay, for a timeless music."

"Jay Larrin's album should be in the "ready rack" of music lovers everywhere.

I first saw and heard Jay sing in Hawaii in the 1970's, and again in the 1980's. He was, and is, a terrific singer and a superb showman. This album showcases Jay's talents and his versatility across genres of music and tempos. From the whimsical "Little Lei Lady" to the mournful "The Koolaus are Sleeping", Jay Larrin bares his heart and soul in songs that make you laugh and songs that make you cry.

If you've ever been to Hawaii, you need Jay's album to remind you of the wonders of "Paradise". If you haven't, buy this album and Jay's music will transport you there."
