"Like all of his best work, this album will take a few hard listens before you can fully assimilate it. But it's well worth it. With seasoned personnel in place, this outing takes more risks and provides better opportunities for Bernie Worrel and Vernon Reid to really take off. The Cream re-makes here are not nearly as objectionable or as jarring as the previous album. We're Going Wrong and I Feel Free are terrific although I'm not sure if the world really needs yet another version of Politician. The new compositions are mature and intricate and most of the material realy soars - with the band being well meshed, and very intense. Bruce's wildly eclectic taste may frustrate some, in the form of a cabaret number here or a vaguely post-Jobim do-dad there - but overall, this is a really solid, dense, thoughtful effort worth one's attention."

"The new Jack Bruce cd updates 3 Cream songs and 11 new Bruce tracks. One listen won't sell you on this set, but listen closer and this is Jack Bruce at 60 years old and still sounding fine. 41/2 stars total. Best tracks "Kelly's Blues","I feel free", "Cold Island" and "Politician". Best work since How's Tricks back in 1977. If you like good music i recommened this disc. Stay away Linkin Park and Limp [Bizkit] fans. Oh i mean, you know what i mean!"
Another Fine, Soulful Effort

"All the songs tell a nice story & you can feel the music bring you there. "So They", "Follow", & "Kelly's Blues" are great opening tunes. The Cozy tribute is excellent as well. "Lost" is a good tune as well. My only downer thought is that he can really do without re-hashing old Cream tunes on every other solo album he puts out. We all know who you are. Leave perfection alone. If they're not perfect, then they are the next best thing."
Three Cream remakes

"This band is awesome -- if you have not heard it, check out their first album - "Shadows in the Air." As with "Shadows," Jack remakes cream songs, three in fact (not 2 as suggested in the editorial review). "we're going wrong," "I Feel Free," and "Politician." The first album included "Sunshine" and "White Room," with Clapton on guitar. No need for Eric's magic here -- Vernon Reid and Godfrey Townsend are on hand. In any event, Jack's voice is a true gift and it is getting better with age (especially now that he has quit smoking). He wears his heart on his sleeve and it shows in his singing and his playing -- passion with a capital 'P.' The latin percussion section is solid, Bernie Worrell is an All-Star and the guitar work, as mentioned, is shared by Vernon Reid and Godfrey Townsend. Many new Jack Bruce/Pete Brown collaborations -- for my money one of the best songwriting duos of the last 40 years. With Brown's poetic lyrics and Jack's masterful compositions, they are true artists. Check it out"
