"i listened to this album while living in detroit-i had gone there in love and went off the deep end. consequently, this record affected me very deeply, and it has become very special to me. i've written a novella about this girl i loved and this music personifies it's timbre. it is for lonley evenings when you've just lit a cigarette and while looking up at the stars you are lulled by the traffic in the streets."

"if life was fair, jack would have been as big as oasis.unfortunately, similar to that other great band, the tindersticks, they have been banished to cult status. in a time where mediocrity so easily is branded the next big thing,is it a pity that an album so complete,so beautiful, has gone by unnoticed.anyone serious about music should own this cd"
