"I disagree that Jack Scott sounded like any other singer of his time unless you can count the moody Leonard Cohen. I remember his consistent hits and found "Burning Bridges", "My True Love" and others to be much more substantial than the teenybopper favorites (Frankie Avalon, Fabian, etc). But I got the impression even at my tender years that Scott (born Giovanni Safone, Jr, in Canada) was like one of those coffeehouse artists who come out, perform their music and exit the stage without taking a bow. I have no memory of ever seeing his picture anywhere in the teen culture; it was if he were a "grown-up" and everybody else was a kid--it even made me a little uneasy to think that. But his records were popular (while they lasted), then music changed as it often does. Jack's best work, I believe, is right here. No need to lament; he made his mark. Enjoy."

"BACK IN THE 50'S AND 60'S ,, SEVERAL COUNTRY SINGERS MANAGED TO CROSS-OVER BECAUSE THEY HAD AN "ELVIS INFLUENCE".THESE INCLUDE CONWAY TWITTY ("BURNING BRIDGES"),TERRY STAFFORD ("SUSPICION"), JERRY WALLACE("IN THE MISTY MOONLIGHT") AND JACK SCOTT WAS ONE OF THEM. SOMEHOW JACK SCOTT INCORPORATED A LITTLE EXTRA TO THE BEAT.JUST LISTEN TO "GOODBYE BABY (BOP,BOP)" AND HIS EXTAORDINARY BALADS LIKE "MY TRUE LOVE". PERHAPS IF "CONWAY TWITTY" HADN'T SOUNDED SO MUCH LIKE JACK, THEN HE MIGHT HAVE REMAINED MORE WELL KNOWN. JACK WAS EXTREMELY TALENTED WRITING HIS OWN SONGS AND HAVING HIS OWN BAND.HE HAD GOOD LOOKS BUT MORE OF THE BAD BOY LOOK ,INSTEAD OF THE WELL POLISHED LOOK OF TEEN IDOLS OF THAT TIME.REMEMBER, THIS WAS THE TIME OF FABIAN, FRANKIE AVALON,BOBBY DARIN ETC.THESE GUYS WERE PHOTOGRAPHED WITH THEIR FEMALE COUNTERPARTS LIKE ANNETTE,SANDRA DEE ETC.(MOSTLY FOR PUBLICITY.)HE WAS MORE THE TYPE TO DATE THE LEAD SINGER OF THE "SHANGRILAS"! IN ANY CASE YOU'LL LOVE THIS SPECIAL C.D.FEATURING HIS ORIGINAL SOUND AND WANT TO PURCHASE ALL HIS MUSIC."

"This is the perfect primer for those unfamiliar with Jack Scott. He wrote his own songs, had a killer band & a great backup vocal group in the Chantones. This disc even includes a rare cover, "Running Scared." Though no one touches Roy Orbison, Jack Scott pulls this off with a version every bit as good as the original in its own way. Every great rock pioneer but Jack has been inducted into the R&R Hall of Fame. The voters should be forced to listen to this CD for an education."

"I have searched for this music for decades and finally my search is over. Jack can hold you for an entire concert and as for "MY TRUE LOVE" the song is devine, in fact we centered an entire wedding around that song. A most definate if you dig this type of artist. Thank You this is the best day of my life, "since crusin in the fifty's"."
This talent belongs in the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame!

"The songs on this album are an excellent example of this great, talented singer/songwriter's abilities. From the deep, strong "My True Love", the oft covered "The Way I Walk", to the light, uplifting "Apple Harvest Time," is it any wonder that this much overlooked talent is the only one ever to place 19 hits in 41 months on the Billboard Top 100! This CD album, with Jack's million sellers included, should be in every music lovers collection of oldies, love songs, and rockabilly. You will truly enjoy Jack's smooth strong voice as he performs the songs on this excellent CD!"
