CD Reviews

Good, but not great

"Let me start by saying that I am a huge fan of Jackie Greene. He has played some of the best live music I have ever seen, as a solo act and with the Phil Lesh and Friends Grateful Dead iteration. He has played some Grateful Dead better than I have seen the Dead play the same songs, much better. I also am a fan of Jackie's own music, my favorite songs being "Honey, I Been Thinking About You", "Uphill Mountain", "Gone Wanderin'" and "By the Side of the Road, Dressed to Kill".

I had great expectations for this new album, and, as is often the case, when expectations are very high, they are very hard to meet/exceed--as in this case. I would consider it a good album, but not one that makes me want to continue to play it, unlike my own JG mix, which I play all the time.

Any Jackie Greene fan should definitely purchase it to support him, but to see the best of Jackie, go to a live show when you get the opportunity."
Excellent!

"I've been a huge fan of Jackie for a long time. I saw him one year in San Fran, and have been in love ever since.

This record is defiantly one of favorites, and I have them all!

Check out Shaky Ground and Medicine! He really is a breath of fresh air in this turbo pop world!"
Absolutely recommend this!!!

"I am over the top crazy about this new Jackie Greene cd. It's lush and full and sensitive and yet it still ROCKS. If you haven't discovered Jackie's music yet, you are missing a huge link in todays evolution of music. He's a storyteller with a great edge. My personal favorite is Stranger in the Sand. But there is not one throw-away track on the entire cd. Hear it for yourselves. Take a listen and I'm sure you will be as hooked as I am."
