"This isn't your typical contemporary metal band. This isn't an overrated and overly played cacophony of sloppy riffs and whiny vocals (slipknot). This isn't a bittersweet, forcefully melodic and overly political grab bag of musical sophomorism (system of a down). "oh, I'm so sad, bitter, and politically responsible! Someone please slap the sht out of me!" This isn't some incredibly horrible fusion of rock / metal and sappy sentiments, like the so-called "love-core" of HIM. "Love-core" is about as American as eating wiener-schnitzel and jelly sandwiches on a croissant painted Red with the blood of Bald eagles! This isn't some relentless cycle of three notes pounding with no tempo changes, leads or any other element that may result from that now ever-allusive thing called creativity (disturbed).
This is Jacknife. This is the newly coined Metalcore. It is what metal must become. It is my final hope in these dark times. Listen to it and be enlightened."
This is the Real Deal!

"Drums like Gatlin guns, heavy as sh.. vocals, and dual guitars like melodic chain saws - these guys are so brutal they make Pantera look like a bunch of limp-wristed geriatrics!
If you want to know what this album sounds like, think of the energy of Megadeth's `Rust In Peace', add to it some weight, some grit, and a real man's voice and there you have Moment of Reckoning. I don't know how they manage to stay so heavy without muddying their sound, but I am thankful and I ain't asking no questions! Track 11 is a perfect example of Jacknife's sound, with dark, heavy vocals over melodic guitars and rapid-fire drumming. Their sound is insane. Jacknife is a great example what `metal' can and should be!"

"I blast the Jacknife CD when I'm driving and usually find 3-5 pedestrians wedged under the car upon arriving at my destination. This album is that aggro. The beauty of it is that it never lets up so it never loses my attention and before I know it the CD has ended and I am hitting repeat. I think that Jacknife are the first band I have heard since In Flames that could hold their own opening for Slayer and ctually win the crowd over. Yeah I said it, this is THAT good."

"This music stomps everything into the ground. Really hefty riffs here. I have listened to this CD at least twice a day since it came out and it doesn't get old or stale at all. I haven't had a CD in regular rotation like this since The War Within by Shadows Fall. Think Reign In Blood, Far Beyond Driven or The Years of Decay in terms of a metal band just letting loose with a brutal, uncalculated masterpiece of an album."
See? Good things do come out of Texas!

"Jacknife's first full album is sure to put them on the proverbial map. This is some of the best metalcore I have heard all year.
Ortiz's sadistic barking and the dexterous riffing of guitars are tempered by driving and rhythmic drumming. Their sound is hard, very hard, and at times they venture into the realm of thrash, but their music is still melodic. What they deliver in this album is a non-stop clobbering. Moment of Reckoning is a great balance of technical proficiency and good ole Texas rage.
