CD ReviewsOne of the best quality SACDs I own! D. Lam | WA | 07/16/2006 (5 out of 5 stars) "Despite being a 10 year old recording, the sound quality of this SACD is topnotch. The drums are very clear and dynamic. The piano notes just jump out at you. Bass is balanced off my subwoofer. I highly recommend this SACD if you're looking for the best." Bach jazz with a bit of dignity Matthew Allan | Sydney, NSW Australia | 04/29/2003 (4 out of 5 stars) "When you hear that someone's jazzing up Bach, it usually involves adding a few cymbal hits to someone playing straight Bach at high speed. Yes, there's a bit of that here, but when the jazz bits break through, they're really something special. Loussier uses the basic harmonic progression of the Bach but the upper harmonies and rhythms are definitely his and they're pretty funky. Unfortunately, most tracks start with a few minutes of "Bach to cymbals" and I think this manages to ruin both types of music. Still well worth a listen. Track 1 and esp. 3 are really quite funky." Inovative! J. Milton | MA | 04/02/2007 (5 out of 5 stars) "Bach's works translate so well in other mediums. I have heard his stuff transcribed for harmonica to kazoo...and it always sounds fresh and as if it were meant for that specific media. These jazz transcription are "spot on" and the Telarc sound is once again, exemplary!"
