"These two albums, thoughtfully compiled on a single CD by the good folks at DCC, represent the country reprobate Willie in fine form, recording with two of his idols and forebears. "In the Jailhouse Now" with Webb Pierce is the slightly stronger of the two albums, boasting a fine duet remake of the title tune and many other honky-tonk highlights. "Brand on my Heart" with Hank Snow is decidedly more old-school country-oriented. Both albums, out of print for years, feature fine remastered sound courtesy of ace archivist Steve Hoffman. Hopefully, DCC will soon reissue the other two duet albums Willie recorded during this period, including one with Faron Young."
Three Country Greats

"Seems that just about everyone has recorded a duet with Willie Nelson, but few match the beauty of the duets he made with Webb Pierce and Hank Snow. All three of these men are fine real country singers who know how to present a song with sincerity and who also have a fine appreciation of talented others. The listener will not only hear great renditions of these songs, but also the respect these interpreters of song have for each other. These aren't hokey duets, these are the real thing."
