"On his first solo album, Jairzinho decided to record only his own material. One of the most active songwriters in the Brazilian scene, Jairzinho is also producing other people's records and writting music to virtually every new musician following his concept of a new Brazilian sound. Son of one of the biggest names in music during the 60's (Jair Rodrigues), Jairzinho shows that he knows a lot more than the tunes he used to sing when he was a member of the Turma Balao Magico, a famous kid's show in Brazil during the 80's. Jairzinho is a very talented musician and his album is essential for those trying to understand a bit of the new Brazilian music (which goes way beyond the "classical" samba and bossa nova)."
