"Dr. Horner's earlier works seem to be very much leniant on solo instruments, while his later works have relied heavily on solo voices. While both work extremely well, the saxophone in DAD is gorgeous and among the best solo instrument-reliant scores I have ever heard. Something is missing from this score though, maybe an all-out orchestral climax, or maybe the album is too short. But the music embodies on of the best examples of beatiful theme, class, and solo-instrumentation I have ever heard. It's not really worth an $30 though, and should be bought if found under that price. One may want to try for similar albums at much cheaper prices such as Sneakers, or Searching for Bobby Fischer. But DAD is a must have for a Horner collector. Don't procrastinate it. The price will only get larger, not smaller, as the album becomes more and more rare."
