Synopsis

Product Description
Jim Dickinson s third album in as many years is very much a stylistic departure from anything he s previously recorded in a music career that spans five decades. The legendary producer (Big Star, Replacements, Green On Red, Ry Cooder, Mudhoney, Alvin Youngblood Heart etc) and session man (Rolling Stones, Aretha Franklin, Bob Dylan, Duane Allman) is to say the least, one of the most idionsyncratic artists of our time. Here he is joined only by the rhythm section of Sam Shoup (bass) and Tom Lonardo (drums) for an outing that celebrates his non-rock and roll roots.

East Memphis Slim's last album - Dinosaurs run in circles
Ingo Trebien | Berlin | 09/20/2009
(4 out of 5 stars)

"sadly this is Jim's last album. He died recently. It's the music of an elder

southern gentleman with all the roots he had. It's no new Sound or something

like that, You remember "Spectrum meets Captain Memphis - Indian Giver", which

thrilled me for it's ruff sound. On the last album all is smoothy and oldfashioned.

IT's a nice last statement of Jim Dickinson."
Roll with Dickinson

(5 out of 5 stars)

"Going to the well is how you find the good water. Buy Jim Dickinson's music, and drink deep and long, and you'll feel what I mean. His UbuRoi-ness irony was always the hallmark of what makes him very different."
